First Question for Video Nurse

Hey Youtube peeps and QQC followers!

The first question has come in for Video Nurse on my Youtube channel, Yourlilchinagirl. I'll have a video response up for you likely by Sunday Feb. 21 that will get Tweeted and Ustream'd.

I'd like to line up at least 10 - 15 great health related questions for these video responses, so if you want your question answered, get them in NOW!

Cheers!

Putting the pieces together: nurse+video+you = Video nurse on Youtube and Ustream.tv http://ping.fm/Cv0Zs

Video Nurse on Youtube.com

Video Nurse is coming to Youtube.com to help you get answers to health, mental health, and relationship questions for a licensed nurse and psychotherapist. Check out my two minute introductory video:

I'm linking the idea of QQC to my Youtube.com channel, www.Youtube.com/user/yourlilchinagirl  so that anyone who asks a medical or mental health question within my scope of practice and the guidelines below can get a video answer, and we can all collaborate on health-related issues via Ustream.tv (that's the plan anyway). Eventually, it would be great to put together an hour's worth of programming, record each answer separately, and let others benefit from the process.

The best use of this idea is for a puzzling issue or situation, such as:

- common ailments that need attention (but you don't know what or how much)
- symptoms you are unsure need immediate medical attention vs. a home remedy
- mental health questions of all kinds (i.e. treating depression and anxiety)
- relationship questions of all kinds
- reviewing your options for adequate medical care and/or mental health care

It will NOT be used for the following:

- urgent medical attention is needed (call 911, or local crisis line)
- diagnosis or prognosis (except in very general terms)
- ordering medications or orders to discontinue medications (see your doctor)

My hope is to provide a service, kind of like a personal Aardvark-like triage nurse service for video, where you can get your questions answered AND you get interaction from a licensed professional nurse and psychotherapist. Those who wish to have additional professional help can choose to use my fee-for-service plan through Paypal or Therapy Partner, and can set up online appointments via Skype or any other chat and video service.  If you have more questions about that, go to my website www.seattledirectcounseling.com

Disclaimer: Unlike a triage nurse linked to your medical doctor's office or through your insurance, I have the right to refer you elsewhere or to refuse to give advice if it is outside the scope of my practice.

But also, unlinke a triage nurse from your doctor's office, I hope to make my videos informative, personalized, and fun, because getting good health advice shouldn't be a drag. My clients know that I make being healthy FUN, and we share a lot of laughter as well as tears.

Got feedback for me? Got a question ready to go? Send them now.
